    CO-Headteacher’s Welcome

On behalf of our pupils, staff and Trustees of Horizons Education Trust, we are proud to welcome you to Riverside Meadows Academy.

Riverside Meadows Academy is an inclusive specialist academy where pupils are supported to grow in confidence, rediscover a love of learning and achieve success both academically and socially. Our dedicated and highly skilled staff work tirelessly to ensure that every pupil feels valued, safe and supported, enabling them to thrive within our nurturing school community.

Riverside Meadows Academy is a Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) specialist school for pupils aged 11–16. We provide education for pupils with a diverse range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Many of our pupils have additional needs across the four areas of the SEN Code of Practice, including cognition and learning, communication and interaction, autism (where SEMH is the primary need), ADHD and medical needs.

Our academy offers a personalised and engaging educational provision with a strong focus on meeting individual needs and raising aspirations. Through a carefully planned and adapted curriculum, pupils are supported to develop academically while also building the social, emotional and life skills they need to prepare for adulthood and future transitions.

    Through a combination of:

    • an exciting, personalised and progressive curriculum
    • bespoke interventions aligned to each pupil’s EHCP
    • a strong emphasis on nurture, wellbeing and positive relationships

we ensure that every pupil has the opportunity to experience success and make meaningful progress.

At Riverside Meadows Academy, we strive to go ‘above and beyond’ to support both our pupils and their families. We are committed to working in close partnership with families and multi-agency professionals to ensure the right support is in place at the right time. Creating a sense of security and belonging is central to our ethos, so that all pupils feel safe, confident and able to demonstrate respect for themselves and others.

Riverside Meadows Academy operates across two sites:

Almond Road, St Neots and Barton Road, Wisbech, both offering a bespoke and diverse education for pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4.

This website provides an insight into our academy, but it cannot replace the value of seeing our academy in action. We warmly welcome visits and would be delighted to meet you and share more about our community.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family to Riverside Meadows Academy.
