Governance at Riverside Meadows Academy
Riverside Meadows Academy is governed by an Academy Advisory Group (AAG). This group of people is made up of a chairperson, co-headteachers, a range of local business and community representatives and parent representatives. The AAG meets every half-term and minutes of the meetings are readily available.
The core functions of the Riverside Meadows Academy AAG are:
- Monitor educational performance and pupil outcomes, providing constructive feedback to support improvement
 - Ensure effective safeguarding and welfare arrangements are in place and consistently implemented
 - Oversee progress against the academy’s improvement plan and school self-evaluation
 - Act as a consultative body to the Headteacher, supporting and constructively challenging leadership
 - Promote meaningful engagement with parents, carers, and the wider community, ensuring local voices are heard
 - Report key risks, opportunities, and local priorities to the Trust Board, in line with the Scheme of Delegation
 - Undertake regular learning walks and link visits to observe academy life and report findings to the AAG
